Starlight Ministries Event

Starlight Ministries will offer a homelessness awareness training on Saturday, April 30, from 9am to 12pm, at the Emmanuel Gospel Center (2 San Juan Street, Boston).  All are invited for practical insights into the nature and causes of homelessness, and how the church can build life-changing relationships with those affected.  Register here or contact Helio Carneiro for more information.

CTK Stories

CTK/Grace Stories: Many faces, one goal—to celebrate joyfully who we are and what God is doing in our city. Twice a month, we are post stories by our pastors, ministry leaders and members from around the church. The goal of these stories is to connect people from all over the city—to encourage one another in our faith, in our work, in our pain and in our joys. Don’t miss an issue — subscribe today!

Boston Fellows

The Boston Fellows is a nine-month fellowship for young professionals at CTK to cultivate the worldview, in prayer and in the community of the local church, necessary for meaningful vocation, in a cohort of peers, spiritual leaders, and professional mentors. The fellowship will begin in September; applications are being accepted now. See www.BostonFellows.com for more information or to apply. For more details contact Rev. Nathan Barczi 617-320-1346.

CTK Stories

As Easter week approaches, CTK Stories would like to encourage you to check out our most recent story, "Easter’s Hope: My Story of Redemption" by Cambridge member Sarah Stuntz: From a very early age, I have had a tendency to narrate my life. My mom loves to tell about the time I jumped off the diving board, proclaiming, “Help, cried Sarah, as she jumped into the pool!” (My aunt, seated nearby, quipped, “Read to her much?”)  As I grew a little older, I traded my broadcast-journalism for a more internal narration. I imagined myself the protagonist of the story called “Sarah’s Life” and created various scenarios in which each chapter might fit a larger whole.  Looking back, I can see how the details of these stories were… To read more, click here.

CTK Snow Team

The CTK Snow Team is an elite crew of volunteers who receive emails about opportunities to serve our city by shoveling or snowblowing the sidewalks in front of the church (while also drinking hot chocolate). No prior experience required -- just a willingness to receive emails and help out as your schedule permits. If this sounds exciting to you, and you think you should be receiving these emails, please contact deacons@ctkcambridge.org. We would love to have you join us.

Leadership Training

Theology for the Church and City: CTK offers a course intended to foster our growth as disciples of Christ and witnesses to the gospel in our city.  The training is required for officer nominees but is open to all, and strongly encouraged for anyone who is serving or would like to serve in any position of leadership in the church (e.g. community group, women’s ministry, etc.). The course will meet at the church office, approximately every four weeks on Saturday afternoons over the course of 2016, beginning on January 9. For more information, contact Nathan Barczi or view the course website.

CTK Lost and Found

In order to better serve the Cambridge congregations, CTK has started a new Lost and Found process. From now on, any items that are lost and found will be placed in a bin located below the stairwell in the basement. After one month, those items will be moved to a bin located in the deacon's closet. The next month the deacon's closet bin will be cleared and donated to Goodwill. Therefore, for any items lost in the church, please contact a deacon in order to look through the bins and reclaim your item. For any given item, there will be a 1 to 2 month period to reclaim what was lost. For any other questions or clarifications please reach out to the Church Office

CTK Reading Group

The CTK Reading Group at The Field Pub is reading Charles Taylor’s A Secular Age, a book that James K.A. Smith called “monumental… a book that offers a genealogy of the secular and an archaeology of our angst” in a pluralistic world, where believers and unbelievers alike experience doubt.  If you are interested in joining the discussion, please contact Nathan.  The group meets at 4pm on Wednesdays.

Making Room at Thanksgiving

Making Room at Thanksgiving: In an effort to ensure that no one at CTK-Cambridge is without a place to go this Thanksgiving, we are looking for people who have room at their tables. Also, if you are someone who is currently without a place to share the meal, we would be happy to connect you with someone who would love for you to join them. For more information please email the Church Office.
