Congregational Meeting

The members of Christ the King Presbyterian Church are called to a Congregational Meeting on Sunday, November 22, 2020 from 7:00 to 8:00 PM, preceded by a prayer meeting that will start at 6:30p. This meeting will be held virtually.

Business to be conducted at the meeting:

  1. Elect a pastoral search committee* for the purpose of recommending a pastoral candidate for Cambridge

  2. Elect church officers – the slate of candidates to be elected will be shared upon approval by the Session

  3. Share information with the church

Instructions for how to participate in the virtual meeting will be forthcoming.

Congregational Meeting (10/18)

The members of Christ the King Presbyterian Church are called to two upcoming Congregational Meetings.

The first is on Sunday, October 18, 2020 at 7:00 PM and will be held virtually. Business to be conducted at the October meeting:
1. Consider the resignation of Rev. Rick Downs as Pastor of Christ the King Presbyterian Church
2. Approve a process for forming a pastoral search committee*
3. Hear more information and ask questions related to placing an interim pastor in Cambridge and the search for a permanent replacement

The second is on Sunday, November 15, 2020 at 7:00 PM and will be held virtually. Business to be conducted at the November meeting:
1. Elect a pastoral search committee* for the purpose of recommending a pastoral candidate for Cambridge
2. Elect church officers – the slate of candidates to be elected will be shared upon approval by the Session

English Service

Sunday School teacher

A Sunday School teacher is needed to join our Grade 4 & 5 team to step in for someone moving away the end of October. Class meets from 8:45–9:45am and curriculum materials are provided. The team rotates teaching and assisting so two teachers are in class each week and teachers have some Sundays off. This is a great opportunity to build relationships with children in the church. Volunteer Schedules

The volunteer schedules for October through December have been completed and volunteers will receive an email with their schedule shortly.  We also encourage volunteers to subscribe to the calendar on planning center to integrate your volunteer schedule with your iOS, Google, or Outlook calendar.  Please contact schedules@ctkcambridge.org if you have any questions.  The leadership and staff of CTK are so grateful for all the ways you serve!

CTK Lending Library

The CTK Lending Library is officially open. If you would like to borrow a book from our collection in the social hall, please follow the instructions posted in that area. There is also an area for donating books — we’re accepting books that fall into the categories of Theology, Church History, Bible Study and Christian Living. All donations will need to be approved by staff and adoption into the collection is not guaranteed.  If you have any questions, please email Laura for more information.

Sunday's Songs

A reminder that samples of the songs for Sunday's worship service are posted on the website by the Wednesday before the service, along with the bulletin and the Scripture passage for the week.  This is a great way to prepare for the service, especially for children who will be joining us during the service for the summer rather than being dismissed for Children's Worship.  We encourage attenders of all ages to avail themselves of this resource.

Informational Meeting

All CTK members are encouraged to attend an informational meeting for CTK members at 9:00am this Sunday, June 24 in the social hall. There will be no adult education class that morning. The topic of the meeting  is the report delivered to the elders by GRACE.  Due to the sensitive nature of the report, some discussion may be inappropriate for children.  Children’s Sunday School classes will meet as usual.  If you plan to have your children attend class that day (while you attend the meeting), we ask that they arrive by 8:45am to avoid interruption to these classes.  For questions, please contact Nathan at nathan@ctkcambridge.org.
