The current Adult Ed class, for those not attending Discovering CTK, is After the Fall: Understanding and Overcoming Sin. In his years as a pastor, chaplain, and theologian, 17th-century Puritan John Owen had ample time to reflect on the nature of sin and temptation - and the struggle against them to which every Christian is called. In this class we’ll walk through some of his best beloved works on the topic. We’ll explore questions like What is sin? What are its effects? What is the difference between sin and temptation? How are sin and temptation overcome? How do we understand - and benefit from - Jesus' victory over sin and temptation in his own life, death, and resurrection? Come join the discussion!
Children's Worship Allergy Concerns
Parents, in our children’s worship classes this coming Sunday, kids will be decorating cookies as part of their project for the Resurrection of the Body unit of the Apostles’ Creed. If you have any allergy concerns for your child, please escort your child downstairs and check in with Lara Kastelein to make sure everything served is safe for your child.
Summer Sunday School
Help teach the next generation and consider being a teacher or assistant in Children's Sunday School this summer (from 8:45-9:45am). Curriculum is provided and we can work around your travel plans. Please contact Dana for more information.
Kids' Bulletins
Parents: As we strive to be more intentional helping kids transition from Children’s Worship classes to being in the entire service, on May 12 the sermon worksheet will receive a makeover tailored to 3rd - 5th Graders. The new worksheet will be available up front at the passing of the peace. Note, extra copies or borrow bags will not be in the foyer at the start of the service (though once Children’s Worship ends mid-June alternate materials will be available for those kids to use during the preaching in the summer months).
Boston Fellows Applications
The Boston Fellows is a nine-month fellowship for young professionals at CTK and other Boston churches to cultivate the worldview, in prayer and in the community of the local church, necessary for meaningful vocation, in a cohort of peers, spiritual leaders, and professional mentors. Applications are being accepted now through July 1 for the 2019-20 cohort, which will begin in September. See www.BostonFellows.com to apply or for more information, or contact Nathan Barczi.
Easter Devotionals
Easter devotional books are now available as a resource for parents to continue in, or newly establish, a regular time of family worship at home with their children. The copies are free and may be picked up in the basement today or either of the next two Sundays. To preview the materials, you can see them here.
Adult Ed: Prayer
The current Adult Ed class is When You Pray. "Words fail to explain how necessary prayer is,” wrote John Calvin, and the Heidelberg Catechism calls prayer “the chief part of thankfulness.” And yet, nearly all Christians struggle to pray. Join us for six weeks in April and May during Adult Education to explore the nature, the necessity, and the riches of prayer. Each week we will set aside some time to pray together, using the Lord’s prayer as our model.
Overseas Partner Liaison
We're looking for a volunteer to be our Liaison for Overseas Partners. This person would communicate directly with our partners in ministry overseas, receiving their correspondence delivering periodic updates to the congregation. If you're interested in serving in this way or would like to learn more, please email laura@ctkcambridge.org.
Calling All Singers!

Informational Meeting

Adult Ed
The current class in Adult Ed is Dealing with Sin in the Church: How do we deal with sin? What do repentance, forgiveness, and reconciliation look like practically? How do we confront sin? And what comfort do we have amid so much failure? Join us for a 6-week exploration of these challenging subjects.
Adult Ed: Song of Songs
The final Adult Ed class in the series on the Song of Songs will be this Sunday. Counterbalancing the many cautions and commands in the Bible regarding illicit sex, this much debated book offers an energetic and positive view of sexual love as a good gift from God. We won’t understand the love of God for his people without it. This week’s passage will be Song of Songs 6:4 and following. We invite you to bring your Bible.
No Adult Ed on Feb 3
Please note, there will be no Adult Education or children’s Sunday school this Sunday because of the Getaway. Classes will resume on February 10th.
Sick Policy
We want to promote a healthy church community this winter and ask that you be sensitive of others when feeling unwell. Parents are asked to adhere to our sick policy when determining whether appropriate for a child to attend nursery or children's classes. Volunteer and teachers are asked to follow these guidelines as well.
