Congregational Meeting

The members of Christ the King Presbyterian Church are called to a Congregational Meeting on Sunday, November 22, 2020 from 7:00 to 8:00 PM, preceded by a prayer meeting that will start at 6:30p. This meeting will be held virtually.

Business to be conducted at the meeting:

  1. Elect a pastoral search committee* for the purpose of recommending a pastoral candidate for Cambridge

  2. Elect church officers – the slate of candidates to be elected will be shared upon approval by the Session

  3. Share information with the church

Instructions for how to participate in the virtual meeting will be forthcoming.

Congregational Meeting (10/18)

The members of Christ the King Presbyterian Church are called to two upcoming Congregational Meetings.

The first is on Sunday, October 18, 2020 at 7:00 PM and will be held virtually. Business to be conducted at the October meeting:
1. Consider the resignation of Rev. Rick Downs as Pastor of Christ the King Presbyterian Church
2. Approve a process for forming a pastoral search committee*
3. Hear more information and ask questions related to placing an interim pastor in Cambridge and the search for a permanent replacement

The second is on Sunday, November 15, 2020 at 7:00 PM and will be held virtually. Business to be conducted at the November meeting:
1. Elect a pastoral search committee* for the purpose of recommending a pastoral candidate for Cambridge
2. Elect church officers – the slate of candidates to be elected will be shared upon approval by the Session

Housing Needed

Julie, Dean, and Abby (age 8) Preston are looking for housing while Dean undergoes cancer treatment at Dana Farber. They'll be arriving in the area around mid-May and will need housing anywhere from 1 month - 1 year. If you have space in your home, or know of other cost free housing available, please write to David Schaller so he can pass the word on to them. In the meantime - please follow the Preston family's journey on Caring Bridge.

Elementary Grade Teaching Position: Grace Preparatory Academy of Greater Boston in Newton (a developing University Model School) is looking for a part-time (20-hr: 13 hrs of classroom time, 7 hours of prep time) Christian teacher two days a week (Monday & Wednesday, 8:00 am to 2:30 pm) to instruct children in a combined classroom.  We have two classrooms, kindergarten and first grade and a second classroom of second through fourth grade students.  Core subjects include:  math, language arts, history/social studies, and science.  This position is for the 2017-2018 school year. Room Rental

Emily, friend of Brooke and Matthew Huskey, is looking for a woman to rent a room in her spacious Brookline home located near the Brookline Hills T stop. Boston Fellows

The Boston Fellows is a nine-month fellowship for young professionals at CTK to cultivate the worldview, in prayer and in the community of the local church, necessary for meaningful vocation, in a cohort of peers, spiritual leaders, and professional mentors.  Application deadline has been EXTENDED through June 15th for the 2017-18 cohort, which will begin in September.  See www.BostonFellows.com to apply or for more information, or contact Rev. Nathan Barczi by email or 617-320-1346.

Cat Needs Temp Home

Temporary home for indoor cat needed. My sister and her husband are moving to town and are in search of a temporary home for their cat while they secure a pet friendly apartment. He is a three year old, indoor cat, with claws. He is up to date on shots. All food/litter will be provided. You would just get the enjoyment of a temporary cat. Nanny Needed

We live in Mid-Cambridge near Central Square, and would love to find a nanny share family/buddy for us and our 10-month old daughter. We have a wonderful nanny as well, who came highly recommended to us by her previous families, which involved a nanny share arrangement. Start date anytime after April 10th and hours 7:30a-5:30p, but happy to go solo for a while if the timing is better, and if you don't need as many hours we could work something out.
