Congregational Meeting

The members of Christ the King Presbyterian Church are called to a Congregational Meeting on Sunday, November 22, 2020 from 7:00 to 8:00 PM, preceded by a prayer meeting that will start at 6:30p. This meeting will be held virtually.

Business to be conducted at the meeting:

  1. Elect a pastoral search committee* for the purpose of recommending a pastoral candidate for Cambridge

  2. Elect church officers – the slate of candidates to be elected will be shared upon approval by the Session

  3. Share information with the church

Instructions for how to participate in the virtual meeting will be forthcoming.

Congregational Meeting (10/18)

The members of Christ the King Presbyterian Church are called to two upcoming Congregational Meetings.

The first is on Sunday, October 18, 2020 at 7:00 PM and will be held virtually. Business to be conducted at the October meeting:
1. Consider the resignation of Rev. Rick Downs as Pastor of Christ the King Presbyterian Church
2. Approve a process for forming a pastoral search committee*
3. Hear more information and ask questions related to placing an interim pastor in Cambridge and the search for a permanent replacement

The second is on Sunday, November 15, 2020 at 7:00 PM and will be held virtually. Business to be conducted at the November meeting:
1. Elect a pastoral search committee* for the purpose of recommending a pastoral candidate for Cambridge
2. Elect church officers – the slate of candidates to be elected will be shared upon approval by the Session

Adult Ed: Prayer

The current Adult Ed class is When You Pray.  "Words fail to explain how necessary prayer is,” wrote John Calvin, and the Heidelberg Catechism calls prayer “the chief part of thankfulness.”  And yet, nearly all Christians struggle to pray.  Join us for six weeks in April and May during Adult Education to explore the nature, the necessity, and the riches of prayer.  Each week we will set aside some time to pray together, using the Lord’s prayer as our model.

C.A.S.K.E.T.

There is still space available at the Carol Kaminski C.A.S.K.E.T. seminar this weekend! Admission is $15 and childcare will be provided (please note, we removed the childcare option from the registration page once the official deadline passed, but if you would like to register and bring kids, please email the office. Childcare Needed

Clare Storck, a friend of many CTKers, is looking for a nanny starting in April. She has a 4-month old and will need 2-3 days: Tuesday, Thursday and/or Friday. She would ideally need coverage from 7:30a-5:30p. In addition to childcare, the job would involve some light cleaning/tidying, helping with laundry, and keeping kids toys cleaned up. Women Together Panel

All women are invited to join for an upcoming Women Together event on Tuesday, March 12th. Listen to a panel of women in the church reflect on the topic of "community in Boston over time," and join us for a time of discussion and prayer, over dessert. Park Street Job Openings

Job Openings: Park Street School is currently looking for preschool teachers (especially one associate teacher), substitute teachers, Auxillary Coordinator and an Assistant to Head of Schools. Meals Ministry

Are you willing to make a meal for individuals or families in the CTK community when there is a need (due to a new baby, a foster placement or adoption, recovering from an illness or surgery, or a loss)? Involvement is flexible – you receive periodic announcements and sign up if you’re able. Veritas Job Opening

The Veritas Forum has been involved in university engagement and Christian faculty development in Asia over the past 5 years. As our work grows in depth and breadth, they are now looking to hire a full-time Asia Program Manager, ideally based in Boston. The role will be 50% program management and operations and 50% fundraising. A successful candidate will combine a passion for impacting the university, its ideas, and its people with expertise in detail-oriented Asia-related program management, partnership development, and operations.
