Hymn Highlight for Kids: Jesus, Lover of My Soul . To learn this hymn we’ll sing in Sunday worship, parents and kids can read the following paragraph and listen to this recording of the first verse on our website.
Charles Wesley is known as one of the greatest hymn writers of all time. He published over six thousand hymn texts and wrote an additional two thousand! Some people say this week's hymn, "Jesus, Lover of My Soul," is the best ever written in the English language. The words are written as a prayer of trust and dependence in God, who knows and loves his children. The four verses invite believers to find refuge, healing, comfort, and freedom in Christ alone, to know their sin and receive God's "plenteous grace."

A/V
Are you at all familiar with mixing live sound? Or, at the very least, does technology not terrify you? If either of those apply, please consider helping out on Sunday mornings with running the sound board. We can train you on how to use the board, and in many ways, running the board is simpler these days than it was pre-COVID, but it doesn’t quite run itself, so we’re looking for some help. If you’d like to learn more, please email amanda@ctkcambridge.org.
Deacons' Fund Offering
Please be aware, we will be collecting the Deacons’ Fund Offering this Sunday, August 23rd, rather than on the last Sunday of the month. You can donate to the fund online here.
Service Time
Please be aware, our Sunday worship service is now at 10:30am. This change applies to both in-person and the livestream.
Coffee Hour Volunteers
Every week after the service there is a virtual coffee hour via Zoom where we can gather and catch up with other members of the congregation. We’re in need of a few more hosts for the coffee hour. If you would be willing to serve in this way, please email laura@ctkcambridge.org.
Memorize
Rick has been giving verses to the kids to memorize, and this past Sunday, he challenged the adults to memorize Galatians 4:4-7, which will be the sermon passage this coming week:
But when the fullness of time had come, God sent forth his Son, born of woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, so that we might receive adoption as sons. And because you are sons, God has sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, crying, “Abba! Father!” So you are no longer a slave, but a son, and if a son, then an heir through God.
No Adult Ed & Sunday School
Please be aware, there will be no Adult Education or Zoom Meet-ups for the kids on Sunday, September 6th. Classes will resume on the 13th.
Livestream Hotline
If any issues relating the the livestream arise on a Sunday morning, the best way to report an issue is to text 617-444-9451 (this number was previously used as the volunteer hotline for anyone who had a conflict day-of; it’s now been repurposed as the livestream hotline). Please text instead of call so as not to disturb the service. Thank you!
