Learning Center Volunteers
Volunteer opportunity in East Cambridge: The Learning Center in East Cambridge is looking for volunteers to tutor kids in Grades 6, 7, and 8. These students are singled out by teachers for special help—which means none of these are students who could afford private tutoring. The Learning Center is held on Wednesdays from 3:00 to 4:15 starting on December 4 and the commitment for volunteers lasts until May 6. To learn more, you can see their flyer or contact Julie Croston from Cambridge School Volunteers, Inc.
CTR Prayer Event
Christ the Redeemer Quincy is excited to host a Praying Life seminar in the hopes of catalyzing a movement of God's Kingdom through enabling people to connect with God in prayer. Their hope and prayer is that many local churches will benefit from it. It's November 15-16; Friday 6-9:30p and Saturday 9am-12:30. The cost is $20, which will cover two meals. It will be held at their church space: 136 Rawson Road in Quincy. See their website for more information or to register.
Women Together Event
On Monday, November 18 at 7:30p, women are invited to attend a Women Together panel discussion to reflect on the topic of “When the Going Gets Tough.” Save the date for this time of discussion and prayer, over dessert. Y2Y Shelter
Y2Y is a youth shelter in Harvard Square serving young adults experiencing homelessness. They are staffed primarily by students and volunteers. They are currently looking for volunteers for the winter break to help out when some of our student volunteers go home for the holidays. They are currently very understaffed for the holiday season and volunteering in any capacity would be an immense help to those we serve. Click here for more information or contact Jacob Heart, the Y2Y Community Engagement Director, to learn more.
