Bike

Being tireless is generally considered a virtue in Cambridge ... unless you're a bicycle. The poor unfortunate ride seen here has been trapped on the bike rack at CTK for ages, and it's high time the deacons free it from its captor. But first, we want to give everyone a chance to claim the frame. If you believe this to be your erstwhile bike, please email the deacons at deacons@ctkcambridge.org by Tuesday, April 30. If there are no claimants by then, we will commute the bike’s sentence to a Cambridge Bicycle where it may find its long-sought redemption.

Q&A

Directly following the service this Sunday, there will be a Q&A regarding the most recent letter from the elders to the congregation. There will be childcare and supervision for all ages provided. A few notes regarding child/youth supervision:

  • Parents, please pick up children in nursery immediately following the service

  • Kids of any age may head to social hall for supervision with volunteers.

  • Parents of Grade K or younger must check-in/out children

  • Kids will be served a snack during the Q&A (bagels, fruit, cheerios & water). So kids should take a seat at a table when they arrive.

  • If parents have any allergy concerns, need to let Dana know in social hall.

  • ALL parents asked to pick up children afterwards (so we can account for everyone)

  • Rest of congregation – bagels on offer to grab during break near the bookshelves (please try to keep clear of the kids tables in the back).

Route One

Want to help end sex trafficking and support survivors? Come to Route One Ministry’s Annual Fundraiser & Concert on Saturday, April 27 from 5-8 pm at Granite City Church in Quincy, MA. Our biggest fundraiser of the year will feature the region's best musicians, great food, and survivor stories. Learn more about this issue, meet someone new, and be a part of the fight to end trafficking. All funds raised will go to Route One Ministry, a local anti-trafficking effort. Learn more & RSVP: lovedbyrouteone.org/fundraiser.

Meals Ministry

The Meals Ministry prepares and delivers meals to congregants who are going through life transitions such as a new baby, illness or surgery. We are looking for new volunteers who are interested in occasionally providing meals in this way. Reach out to Erin Ward at meals@ctkcambridge.org to find out more information or if you yourself are in need of meals or know someone who could benefit from meals.

Sushi

Sushi Night for Women of CTK!  On Saturday, April 6th at 5pm, come learn how to make classic salmon and tuna sushi as well as shrimp and vegan sushi rolls for anyone who cannot eat raw fish!  We'll also sip on delicious seaweed soup and green tea! And of course we'll have a time of sharing and prayer. $10 per person (at the door, Venmo or cash) -- scholarships available.  Please RSVP by April 4 at 5pm to women@ctkcambridge.org.

Fare Forward

Jesse Porch has been working with Fare Forward and the Boston Fellows to start a monthly reading and discussion group here at CTK. Fare Forward is an "intentionally ecumenical Christian review of ideas," and each session of the reading group will focus on 2-3 articles from previous editions to discuss in depth. The initial meeting was March 24, 3-4:30pm, in the Fellowship Hall, and going forward will target the 3rd Sunday every month (April 21 will be next). Please contact Jesse if you're interested so he can pass along the reading selections and keep in touch.

CW Music

Can you play guitar, ukulele or carry a tune but serving on stage with the worship team is not for you? We are looking for some musicians and singers to periodically lead songs in our Children’s Worship classes (takes about 10 minutes during the service). You don’t need to be a rockstar—singers and musicians of all levels are welcome. If you can lend your talents in service of our kids, please contact Dana (dana@ctkcambridge.org).

Roommate

Looking for Roommate: Katie Baldwin attended CTK last summer when she was in Boston for an internship. She is graduating from Princeton this spring and moving to Boston to work full-time in software engineering. She is hoping to find (female) Christian roommates who are interested in prioritizing community and hospitality, and is looking to live along the Red Line, potentially in the Porter Square area. Please reach out (kgbaldwin2001@gmail.com) if you’d be interested or know of any opportunities!

Holy Week Services

For Good Friday, we’ll be joining with other Cambridge-area churches for a joint service.  This year, it will be hosted at Central Square Church (5 Magazine St.) at 7:30p on Friday, March 29.  It will be a tenebrae-style service.  Please join us for this opportunity to worship alongside brothers and sisters from other area churches as we remember Christ’s sacrifice.
