CHILDREN’S WORSHIP
This school year children (4 years to Grade 2) are learning about how we worship God on Sundays and every day with a three-week lesson unit on each part of our worship service. On the last Sunday of the unit, students will complete an art project expressing that element of worship.
Invocation Unit (on 10/15, 10/22 & 10/29)
We say to God: “Be our light” (part of the Story of Worship)
Hand motion: fist next to face, open hand (like a light bulb coming on)
Theme Verse: 2 Corinthians 4:6
For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

Lesson: Honoring God’s Name
Bible Truth: God commands us to respect and reverence him and his name, promising to bless those who honor his name and punish those who dishonor his name. (Lev. 24; Rom. 10)
Lesson Focus: To learn that God’s name tells us who God is; to learn that God also makes himself known to us by his Word and his mighty works; to find out what it means to treat God’s name, Word and works with reverence.
