Congregational Meeting
Join us this Sunday (10/23) for a congregational meeting at 3:30p in the sanctuary. This will be the first congregational meeting since Travis’s arrival, and is a chance to communicate updates on the life of the church, to repoint us toward our vision and mission, and to dedicate our church, city and world to God in prayer. The three main topics for Sunday will be
Updates from Travis on things like how his transition has been going so far, what's new under his leadership, and what kind of expectations we should set for ourselves in this new season of ministry at CTK.
This year's budget.
Updates on the building project and share about what's next.
Notes for College Students
This August, we sent three of our high school seniors off to college. As a congregation, we’ll be sending cards to them as an encouragement during their first midterms. Ariana will be putting the cards and pens near the snacks after the service if anyone would like to sign them or leave a brief note letting them know we’re thinking of and praying for them. This will be the last Sunday before they’re mailed at the end of the month.
Congratulations
Congratulations to Emily and Lucas Lints, the proud new parents of their son, Porter Richard Lints, born October 9!
If you have important life announcements you’d like included in the Reader Community section, please email Laura at laura@ctkcambridge.org.
MNA Unity Fund
To support the growth of denominational leaders and ministers from the African American and other racial minority communities, the PCA created the Unity Fund, which gives scholarships to minority students for their seminary education. The PCA Foundation has made a Matching Grant Challenge available to the Unity Fund. All gifts given to the Unity Fund from October 10 to November 9 will be doubled by the Foundation up to $59,000. If you would like to support this effort, contributing during this window of time is an excellent idea!

CTK Stories (Copy)
Earlier in the Nehemiah sermon series, Pastor Travis encouraged us to find ways to share our own stories on how God has been at work to sustain, equip and grow us for being on mission to rebuild. To that end, we’d love for you to share a short story of how God has been on the move in your life. The idea is to feature stories in the Reader during the remainder of our sermon series. You could offer a short (3 min) video or a 300 word (or less) written version of a story - whichever you like best. Kids are welcome to share too! Or if you don't want your story published, but you do want to share it with Travis or the other leaders of the church, we'd be glad to hear it and be encouraged by it all the same. You can upload your video or document to this shared Dropbox folder. Looking forward to hearing about how God has been on the move!

This past Sunday’s passage was Nehemiah 3, where the Israelites begin rebuilding the gates and walls of Jerusalem. You can follow along here with the reading alongside a map of Jerusalem.
Adult Ed
Our sermon series in Nehemiah has been calling us back to community. One way to answer that call could be in attending the new Adult Education class, which started on October 16th in the social hall at 9:15a. Leonard Layne will be teaching a 6-week class on Life Together by Dietrich Bonhoeffer, facilitating discussions on how God is at work and how we rebuild in our life together.
CTK Stories
CTK fam! You may recall the passage we looked at 2 weeks ago (Neh. 2:9-20) where Nehemiah shares how God had been on the move in his life and how I shared ways God has been on the move in our family's life to get us here with you all. In light of that, I asked us to find ways to share our own stories on how God has been at work to sustain, equip and grow us for being on mission to rebuild. I want to give you a specific opportunity to do that.
I'd love it if you would share a short story of how God has been on the move in your life with us. The idea is to feature stories in the reader during the remainder of our sermon series. You could offer a short (3 min) video or a 300 word (or less) written version of a story - whichever you like best. Kids are welcome to share too! Looking forward to hearing about how God has been on the move!
