teaching the foundations of our faith

Children are dismissed from the service to a time of teaching rooted in Scripture and designed to reveal our amazing God—showing the big picture of the Gospel.

* Lesson units cover a part of the Apostles' Creed (e.g. Maker of Heaven and Earth, I believe in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord)

* Children are grouped into an older and younger classe with teaching tailored to each group.  

* Learning is reinforced through

Music -- children lift up their voices singing the Apostles' Creed and other songs representing themes of the Creed

Signs -- children learn sign motions to express key words of the Creed

Themed Projects -- children relate the words of the Creed to their own lives as they together complete Science Discovery, Music and Service projects

The two-year rotation of our curriculum allows the children to repeat each theme, covering it in greater depth the second time through. The alternate year theme is the Story of Worship.

The Apostles' Creed curriculum includes content from "Laying the Foundation" (by Luke Gilkerson, licensed for use through Intoxicated on Life, L.L.C.) and original lesson material and activities developed at Christ the King.
