Kids' Sunday Summary

10:30AM CHILDREN’S WORSHIP

This school year children (4 years to Grade 2) are learning about how we worship God on Sundays and every day with a three-week lesson unit on each part of our worship service. On the last Sunday of the unit, students will complete an art project expressing that element of worship.

Lord’s Supper Unit (on May 12, 19 & 26)

God says to us: Come to the feast
How we show it: fingers of one hand together touching mouth
Theme Verse: 1 Corinthians 11:26
For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord's death until he comes.

Bible Story: Luke 22:8-20 (ICB)
Song: Behold the Lamb
Art project: Make placemats and decorate cups
Teaching points:

  • Sin leaves us with hungry hearts.

  • God invites us to come and fill our hungry hearts at the Lord’s Supper.

  • We celebrate the Lord’s Supper to remember that Jesus died on the cross to save us from our sins.

  • The Lord’s Supper also reminds us of the feast we will share with Jesus in Heaven forever.

At Home Discussion Starters:

  1. What do our hearts long for? (Hint: For what purpose did God create us?

  2. How does the Passover meal the Israelites shared point to Jesus?

  3. What Is Jesus preparing for us in Heaven?
